Is blender even good for animating anything?
A real question since I love modeling in blender.
However the animation looks ass backwards.

How it should look like
1) Take a MKV or whatever
2) Drop into blender
3) it looks like a picture however animates on the timeline so you can precisely capture the key frames of animation.

Do other software do that?

Using my original .OBJ as a morph and dialing all hidden morphs to zero fixed the symmetry issue, but now the pants don't fit. A smoothing modifier at a high number just messes up everything, and playing with the scale also doesn't work.

So, maybe is not the bones after all.

Honestly. I made this almost impossible to light scenario. It's a small Japanese 1K1R apartment, lights off at night, and there's a slight volume. So any Ghost light I throw in is lit up with the volume, AND, you can see the stacking shadows lining the walls no matter how big and soft I make the lights. It doesn't help that I'm working with a black character AND a white character. I've been taking stabs at it for months and came up with a janky solution. All that said, I think my end result is serviceable, but just having a better eye for lighting is the better talent.

i want to make my oc in the head style of a specific game, and thats why im using this reference of a 3d model.
theres alot of differences, i have trouble with the cheeks because with the nose and lips, the nose is tilted upwards, and the top lip is on top of the bottom, alot of things i understand why but for things like cheeks i really struggle with wanting to get the shape right from understanding why it is that. would you be able to help?

even when directly facing the viewer, you still get a tiny indication of a nose. it's honestly pretty rare to get absolutely no nose in a normal pose. sometimes it disappears when making an exaggerated face or with a very specific style though.

Well first you have to make sure your UV's are mirrored instead of gimping yourself by making them asymmetrical.
Then you overlay them on top of each other and copy the weights from the other side using the nearest UV neighbor option.
If you use Blender, the Mesh Data Transfer plugin can do that for you.

For rigging you have a symmetric proxy mesh that you transfer skin-weights to proximal verts on the assymetric model. Much the same way you'd skin wrap/bind weights for outfits.

The underlying model is doing a lot of the heavy lifting that's why I think it looks good and well also the program is the one doing the simulation, the real challenge is taking these meshes out of marvelous and into the graphics engine and still make them look good, so we'll see, it will probably take me another week or so to get the hang of it.

I hate geometry nodes.

So I wanted to get an array that has a offset for example every repeated part is -5 of the original distance.

This is impossible to get in the array modifier (despite the devs being retarded for not including it)

So lets see how I can do this in geometry nodes.

You don't need to follow the tutorial, just grab the nodes. I use them quite a lot. The circular array is really nice, since you don't have to do the retarded "add array on first object, add empty, rotate empty, add object offset to the array on your first object" rigamarole.
Whether or not the nodes do the exact thing you need, I dunno, but I'm sure it'd be easy to tweak with some basic math.

If blender was not retarded and god portions of it being stuck in the 90s other in the 2000s they literally give you a extra box in the array modifier that says.
